In Context
Elizabeth Gibson is a writer and marketer with California roots and a Midwestern zip code. Trained in literature and interior design, she has spent nearly a decade balancing strategic business work with the quieter art of noticing how people live, gather, and make meaning. Her writing gravitates toward the grey areas — where personal and cultural narratives overlap, where belonging tangles with contradiction, and where humor makes even the heaviest subjects easier to carry.

California still feels like home in her bones — its coastline, its light, its stubborn sense of possibility. The Midwest, where she’s lived for more than ten years, doesn’t quite fit, though she’s learned to appreciate its rhythms and contradictions too. That dissonance — loving and resisting, belonging and questioning — informs much of her work.

When she’s not writing, she’s raising three children, navigating the beautiful chaos of a blended family, and reminding everyone (unsuccessfully) to close the door before Eduardo the Aussiedoodle makes a break for it. Grey Madder is her attempt to give shape to all those in-between spaces — with wit, clarity, and a refusal to accept the world in only black and white.
